New Year, New Me?
As we enter January and a new year you may feel inundated and bombarded by ‘New Year, New Me’ messages which are often born from diet culture.
Instead of the usual resolutions of dropping dress sizes, overhauling and restricting your food choices or setting unrealistic goals, how about we change the perspective?
Instead of trying to create a new you, how about focusing on positive ways to improve your health, your happiness, your success or your lifestyle. What ever it may be, approach it gently and with kindness.
We’ve collated five non-diet resolutions which you may want to add to your New Year resolution list.
Make time for daily or weekly self-care
Try a new recipe each week
Challenge yourself to try a ‘fear food’
Prioritise quality sleep
Follow people on social media who make you feel good
Resolutions, goals and aims can be so beneficial but can easily become obsessive, punishing and restrictive. Try to choose goals that are realistic, ones that don’t hinder your relationship with food, movement and your body and once which you will genuinely enjoy working towards.
It is also completely fine to have no goals this year! Whatever feels good for you!
