Recipe: Seeded Crackers

Seeds are such a great addition to your diet for many reasons. They are full of great fats, fibre and lots of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants. ⁣

I love to add seeds to my granola, salads, roasted veg, when baking flapjacks or muffins but these seeded crackers are just delicious!⁣

These are inspired by a beautiful friend who makes the most delicious seeded crackers! ⁣

They are really easy to make, won’t take long at all and are so versatile……great with cheese, dips and salads or anything really!!  ⁣

Give them a go….⁣

INGREDIENTS⁣

  • 50g sunflower seeds⁣

  • 50g pumpkin seeds⁣

  • 50g flaxseeds

  • 40g sesame seeds, (I used a mix of black and white sesame seeds)⁣

  • 50 chickpea flour or gram flour⁣

  • 1 tsp salt⁣

  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds⁣

  • 1/2 tsp ground coriander ⁣

  • 1/2 tsp turmeric (you can also use paprika or some cayenne if you want to spice it up a bit)⁣

  • 2 tbsp olive oil ⁣

  • 80ml hot water⁣

  • 1 tbsp dried herbs of your choice, (optional)⁣⁣

METHOD⁣

  • Preheat oven to 170C.⁣

  • Mix all ingredients together except the oil and water, then slowly add the oil and hot water, mix, and leave for 10-15 minutes for the seeds to soak up the water. ⁣

  • Give everything a good stir, then spread the mixture over a lined baking tray and spread thinly. The thinner the better but not so thin they crack! ⁣

  • Bake for 20mins, or until golden brown and crisp.  ⁣

  • Remove from the oven, allow to cool, then break into irregular shards. Store in an airtight container. ⁣

ENJOY!!⁣
