Recipe: Seeded Crackers
Seeds are such a great addition to your diet for many reasons. They are full of great fats, fibre and lots of minerals, vitamins and antioxidants.
I love to add seeds to my granola, salads, roasted veg, when baking flapjacks or muffins but these seeded crackers are just delicious!
These are inspired by a beautiful friend who makes the most delicious seeded crackers!
They are really easy to make, won’t take long at all and are so versatile……great with cheese, dips and salads or anything really!!
Give them a go….
INGREDIENTS
50g sunflower seeds
50g pumpkin seeds
50g flaxseeds
40g sesame seeds, (I used a mix of black and white sesame seeds)
50 chickpea flour or gram flour
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cumin seeds
1/2 tsp ground coriander
1/2 tsp turmeric (you can also use paprika or some cayenne if you want to spice it up a bit)
2 tbsp olive oil
80ml hot water
1 tbsp dried herbs of your choice, (optional)
METHOD
Preheat oven to 170C.
Mix all ingredients together except the oil and water, then slowly add the oil and hot water, mix, and leave for 10-15 minutes for the seeds to soak up the water.
Give everything a good stir, then spread the mixture over a lined baking tray and spread thinly. The thinner the better but not so thin they crack!
Bake for 20mins, or until golden brown and crisp.
Remove from the oven, allow to cool, then break into irregular shards. Store in an airtight container.
ENJOY!!
