Recipe: Black Bean Brownies

These chocolatey, soft and fudgey brownies are easy, quick, delicious and surprisingly made of beans for added fibre! 


This recipe is from Adrianna over at www.newfoundbalance.com  and is as easy as pie!


INGREDIENTS 

  • 1 Can Black Beans

  • 1/2 Cup Cocoa

  • 1 Tbsp Milk

  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder

  • 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda

  • 2 Eggs

  • 1/2 Cup Honey

  • 1 Tsp Vanilla Extract

  • 1/2 Tbsp Oil

  • 1/2 Cup Chocolate Chips


INSTRUCTIONS 

  1. Preheat the oven to 175 C

  2. Drain and rinse black beans and then mash them with a potato masher or in a food processor.

  3. Add beans, eggs, milk, oil, vanilla and honey together and then mix on medium power until well blended.

  4. Add cocoa, baking soda, baking powder and mix well.

  5. Stir in chocolate chips.

  6. Butter 9x9 dish and pour batter in.

  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes.

  8. I drizzled mine with melted white chocolate but this step isn’t neccessary!
