Claire is a qualified nutrition professional, having graduated with a Master’s degree in Nutrition and obtained her postgraduate Diploma in Dietetics, both from King’s College, University of London. Prior to this she studies Biology at Imperial College London where she first developed her interest in food, health and sport.

Her desire to work with and help people led her down the path to becoming a Dietitian and working in the NHS, where she worked for 5 years. Claire gained a wealth of clinical expertise and knowledge in the NHS, specialising in the dietetic management of medical gastrointestinal disorders (including IBS, IBD, and coeliac disease), surgical gastrointestinal patients (including bowel cancer, ileostomy patients and high-output stoma patients) as well as obesity, PCOS and weight management.

Claire uses her skills in dietary counselling, behaviour change and CBT to enable clients to make the dietary changes they need to improve their condition. She motivates them to take control and gives them the skills to overcome any barriers stopping them from achieving a healthy and happy lifestyle. Claire is a FODMAP trained Dietitian.

Being a keen sportswoman herself, Claire fostered her interest in sports nutrition gaining a Postgraduate Diploma in Sports Nutrition from the International Olympic Committee in 2010. She provides nutritional advice to athletes of all levels in order to help them achieve their sporting goals whether it be to improve performance, strength, address the balance of muscle and fat or even just to ensure they are following a healthy, balanced diet.

Not satisfied with only giving advice, Claire has now embarked on a research career to improve her understanding of how the body deals with the nutrients we give it and how this affects our appetite and likelihood of becoming obese or not. She is currently studying for her PhD at Imperial College London, investigating the effects of macronutrients on appetite and body composition and so if you don’t find her out along the Thames clocking up the miles, she is guaranteed to be immersed in the latest journal keeping up to date with current research.
